The third time is the charm! Over the past year, I have visited this lake in Vermont three times, chasing the aurora, and I finally caught it! If you attempt to photograph the aurora, you know how frustrating it can be. Clouds, the moon, and current issues with predicting the timing and power of the aurora can make it painful, but if you get lucky, it is worth it. This aurora was short and not very intense, but it provided some beautiful color to bring together this composition of the heart-shaped puddle in the foreground.
