Connecticut River Sunrise
Connecticut River Sunrise
I shot this image of the Connecticut River from Hatfield on a frigid morning, with temperatures hitting -5°F. The Holyoke Range looms in the background as the first light of sunrise spreads a soft glow over the landscape. My fingers quickly went numb, and every breath formed a cloud in the freezing air. The cold temperatures created some mist rising from the river, adding to the surreal feeling of the morning, making an effort to capture this scene in the bitter cold worth it.
Photographed on the traditional lands of the Nipmuc People.
